the advent calendar of my dreams

via oh happy day!

it's not too late....

images of paperwhites are appearing on every darn cute blog i view, and i'm inspired to grow some. do you have any winter florals in your home? i'm craving fresh greens for our front door. i came home tonight to a really pretty pink pointsettia from the couple that lives above us. they left it on our doormat. the card was addressed "To our favorite neighbors" How sweet is that.

alicia martin installation

really love it.

eat, drink, and be married

nicole's french cafe in south pasadena is one of my favorite places to be, outside of paris of course ;) want to hear in detail what we ate? it's kind of insane. 2 big fischer beers each, tuna sandwich and spicy curry pumpkin soup for greg, trio of salads for me (beet, barley, artichoke). also, plenty of fresh french baguette, and 3 slices of a stinky brie, candied walnuts, figs & balsamic reduction. i know!! but it was amazing. i'd highly recommend this cafe/marketplace to anyone. make sure you order something with tomatoes. by far the best tomato i have EVER had.

print-happy

patterns and prints and happiness-oh my! (via black eiffel and frecklewonder)

sweet

love this image. love black eiffel, if you can't tell.

dream life

ohhhhhhhhh i want to live atop that hill SO bad!!

greg needs a stocking

hubby needs a stocking. even the cats have one. how sad. we saw an ok one at ikea-grey and burgundy. i wish i had the ambition to make one. mine was made for me by my grandma before i was born. i should post a pic. i like all of these that i found on black eiffel, my fave blog of the day (and i'll give credit where credit is def due-that's where i found most of the rainy day shots)

rainy day

i have the day off, and it's actually raining in LA. not hardcore, but enough to feel cozy while indoors with the shades pulled up and the xmas tree lights on and the coffee hot and scrambled eggs and biscuits, xmas cards and cleaning house all in my future. and maybe even a matinee of the fantastic mr. fox....?

andrew bannecker is the artist. i love her 'fro, the flowers in the vase, and the steamy leaves flowing from the mug.
